Monday 8th April 2013, marked the launch of our new partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation. The aim of this partnership is to support the charitable work of Make-A-Wish Foundation in granting wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 years that are living with life-threatening medical conditions.
What do Make-A-Wish Foundation do?
Make-A-Wish Foundation has one simple aim - to grant the wishes of children aged between 3 and 17 years living with a life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The result is fantasy into reality. A wish can provide a positive, often once in a lifetime experience, for the child and his / her family. Focusing the child's attention away from the difficult routine of medical treatment and consultations, and the daily struggle against a life-threatening condition.
The promise of a wish can have a remarkable effect on a sick child and has enormous impact on everyone close to them. A wish granted is true magic for the child providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals and doctors, it gives a child something to look forward to through their many months of treatment. Since its inception in 1992 Make-A-Wish in Ireland has granted wishes for over 1300 brave children, realising their greatest wish and allowing them experience the hope, strength and joy each wish provides.
