The Maxol Group Modern Slavery Statement
Human Trafficking, or Modern Slavery as it is often referred to, is a serious crime and a violation of a person’s fundamental human rights. It can take on many forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour or human trafficking, all of which have the common element of depriving a person of their liberty in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
The Maxol Group is committed to improving its practices to help combat slavery and human trafficking. This policy statement is part of the Group’s Code of Business Conduct and embodies the principles contained in the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Amendment Bill 2013 of the Republic of Ireland and also addresses section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 of the United Kingdom.
