Maxol Sponsors Mid Sutton U12's

Maxol is delighted to be sponsoring the football kit for a team of youngsters at Mid Sutton FC for the second year in a row. Last year it was the U-13’s and this year, it’s the turn of the U-12’s – look how wonderful they look in their new jerseys!

Mid Sutton FC teams currently play in the North Dublin District League (NDSL) and the DDSL from U-8 up to U-17. The U-12’s started out as underdogs at the start of the season but are now holding their own towards the middle of the table.

Mick McCormack, the team’s coach, says they are a great group of lads to look after and that they were chuffed when they got their new jerseys. A number of the U-12’s have been with the club from the junior academy level (U-6’s), which is a great testimony to the loyalty, commitment, and hard work invested in the club by parents, coaches, volunteer managers, and assistant managers over the years.

Mid Sutton Football Club is a pretty special club. Founded in 1981, its whole ethos is about giving young boys and girls of every level of ability and social background the chance to play football and have some fun. Mid Sutton FC doesn’t have a clubhouse or any fancy facilities - just a team of dedicated volunteers, parents, and coaches who decided that kids from Bayside, Sutton, Donaghmede, Kilbarrack and the surrounding areas should have a place to play football.

Supporting local community efforts, and especially 100% volunteer-driven ones, is important to Maxol because we are a community-based company ourselves. “We are so appreciative of Maxol’s support for our teams – we genuinely are,” said Sinead Cullinan, a volunteer and mother who is deeply involved in the running of the club. “It means so much to the kids to have a proper jersey when they’re playing a match. They’re so proud of themselves!”

At Mid Sutton FC, the emphasis is on making sure that kids of all abilities can come in and have a chance to play football. They learn to be part of a team and to encourage each other. “At this young age, we try to make sure that the kids understand that it doesn’t matter if you can actually kick the ball or not – just come down and have some fun, that’s all, “ Sinead added. The club also runs a football academy in the local school hall every Saturday afternoon for children aged between 4 and 6.

Support from local businesses are really the only way that a volunteer-driven club can function, so here at Maxol we are very proud to be part of the wonderful efforts at Mid Sutton FC to make sure that youngsters in the area get the chance to play football. Go Mid Sutton FC!
