MAXOL INVEST €1/2 MILLION IN BRINGING FUEL CHARGECARD SERVICES ONLINE
Maxol, one of Ireland’s leading oil companies, has invested over EUR ½ million in bringing its fuel Chargecard services online. The first oil company in Ireland to introduce on-line Chargecard management services, the system will allow Maxol’s Chargecard customers to receive copies of invoices via secure e-mail plus fleet analysis data which can be manipulated by individual companies to meet their own specific information requirements.
Business users and companies, in both the North and South of the country, who spend over EUR 1,900 on fuel per annum, can now obtain on-line management information on individual vehicle performance. Using the latest technology, this information is completely flexible and can be reviewed by company division, car registration number or card number - enabling a tailored report of fleet fuel consumption, vehicle cost per mile and mileage records.
The Maxol Chargecard also offers one of the longest interest free credit periods available on any fuel charge card - up to 45 days in total, helping to free up working capital and benefit cash flow. All purchase details appear on a single invoice with VAT shown separately.
The new Chargecard can be tailored to meet individual needs as follows:
* driver specific – the card is made out in the name of an individual entitling them to purchase fuel for any vehicle;
* vehicle specific - the card is made out in the registration number of an authorised vehicle and entitles any cardholder to purchase fuel for that vehicle;
* Linked card – only a specific driver can purchase fuel for a specific car;
* Company card - the card is issued in the name of a business entitling any cardholder to purchase fuel for any vehicle; and
* Maxol Mastercard - the card is held at a nominated petrol station and can be used by any authorised users.
As a further means of cost control for businesses, the card can be valid for fuel only, fuel and lubricants or fuel, lubricants and car wash.
The Maxol Chargecard is currently accepted in over 300 Maxol service stations throughout Ireland and 1,500 TotalFinaElf service stations in the U.K.
For business users who spend over EUR 2,500 a month on fuel, Maxol also offers a Goldcard with the benefit of additional rewards linked to the level of fuel purchase, opportunities to join in Maxol Corporate Hospitality Events and entry into free quarterly prize draws.
Commenting on this Maxol Chargecard investment, Barry McMullan, Fuelcard Manager, said:
“Bringing Maxol Chargecard on-line is the result of extensive consultation with Maxol chargecard holders in both the north and south of Ireland. Control over fleet information and the flexibility to monitor fuel consumption more closely were key pre-requisites, which this on-line facility now allows our customers.
It is hoped that once E-Billing has been approved as a secure method of issuing Vat Invoice by the Revenue Commissioners, as it has been in the UK by the Inland Revenue, an invoice will no longer need to be posted out to customers.
We at Maxol have continually invested in the latest Fuel card technology, from electronic fraud prevention to Web development and are delighted to be pioneering this latest initiative.”
The upgraded Maxol Web site will allow existing customers to order and stop cards on the Internet and will allow prospective customers to apply for the Maxol Chargecard online.
