Maxol Opens Three Re-Vamped Service Stations in Greater Dublin Area

Maxol Opens Three Re-Vamped Service Stations in Greater Dublin Area

Three state of the art Maxol Service Stations complete with Mace Convenience Stores were opened today (6/3/03) at sites in Walkinstown Avenue and Ballymount Road in Dublin and in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.   The openings are as a result of Maxol’s investment in site redevelopments in 2002.

The redevelopments are part of Maxol’s Retail Capital Development Programme which over the past two years has undertaken a considerable number of forecourt redevelopment projects throughout Ireland.

The official opening ceremonies began with Walkinstown Avenue in the morning where comedian June Rodgers, cut the tape on the new service station facilities.  FM 104 were on site to provide the musical entertainment and broadcast details of the many special offers made available at the re-vamped Service Station.   The new Mace Convenience Store at Walkinstown Avenue, which is complete with wine licence and hot & cold deli counter, also had a number of special offers to celebrate the official opening.

In the afternoon Ms. Rodgers, led the opening ceremony at Ballymount Road with FM 104 and the Beetle Bugs providing musical entertainment for visitors and guests at the redeveloped service station.

Maxol Service Station at Blessington, Co. Wicklow was the final opening of the day.  Great special offers at the new Service Station are available both today and through the weekend with East Coast Radio, due to arrive on Saturday 8th March to join in the celebrations.

Commenting at the opening ceremonies, Fergal Harrington, Brand Development Manager at Maxol said:

“Maxol’s Retail Capital Development Programme made huge headway in the latter part of 2002 which is evident today in the simultaneous opening of these three  Service Stations.  The state of the art facilities and modern retail service are essential for Maxol Service Stations to provide a quality service to our customers and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.”

Maxol aims to bring all 350 of their stations, both company-owned and licensed, up to the standard of the best in the industry with their investment in redevelopment.   Maxol is Ireland's leading independent oil company and one of the largest family-owned businesses in Ireland.
