MAXOL TAKES ON SPONSORSHIP OF THE NEW IRISH STUDENTS RUGBY TEAM
Maxol, the entirely Irish-owned independent oil company, today (Thursday 14h February) announced that it is to continue its sponsorship of the Irish Students Rugby Team, formerly known as the Irish Universities Team, until 2002.
This year, Maxol has added a new dimension to the sponsorship with the introduction of the Maxol Irish Student of the Match. The winner of this award was announced after France game and was presented at the post-match dinner in Halla Maxima in UCC. Another first for the students is that the Maxol Irish Students Rugby Team has become an official part of the IRFU. This demonstrates the importance the IRFU places on Irish student rugby to produce some of the great future players and internationals.
