Aware – our charity partners

Our position at the heart of local communities across the island of Ireland is not one we take for granted. Over our 100-year history, it has been an honour to give back to the community through our support of local initiatives.

Recent highlights include The Ozcars, a GAA fundraising event sponsored by Maxol Ballivor;

A Run for Ollie supported by Maxol Castlebar; and a fundraising initiative for Daisy Lodge cancer unit undertaken by Maxol Castlewellan. We are proud to be involved in such great initiatives and even more proud to be a part of strong communities that pull together.

Giving back

On a national level, The Maxol Group has worked with appointed charities for many years. We understand the positive impact these charities have on society and we understand that our support is an important part of how we give back to communities.

Since 2016, we have been working to support the incredible work of Aware – a charity that provides support, education and information services to those impacted by depression, bipolar disorder and mood-related conditions. This partnership has grown from strength to strength and is hugely important to us, as Aware works with individuals, families and communities right across the island of Ireland.

Your support

To date, we have raised more than €420,000 for Aware in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This figure is a testament to the generosity of our customers, retailers, and staff at each of our sites, but we are not going to stop there! Aware relies on corporate donations and public fundraising to cover 75% of its annual costs, so we cannot underestimate the importance of each cent/pence raised. Aware rely on all of us to continue their great work so thank you for helping us to support this very deserving cause.
