Research shows that the vast majority of motorists only ever give a thought to their tyres when it is an emergency. However, in the coming week, motorists who visit selected Maxol Service Stations across the country will be offered a free tyre check that will give them an accurate picture of the state of their tyres.
Organised by Continental Tyres Ireland in conjunction with Maxol the free tyre checks will be running at the stations listed below, and will be carried out by trained personnel from local Advance Pitstop outlets.
Tom Dennigan, General Sales Manager, Continental Tyres Ireland, said: "Our motivation in organising these free tyre checks was twofold. On the one hand, we wanted to show motorists how easy and quick it is to carry out a tyre check. In addition, we also wanted to get a snapshot of the state of the tyres on the cars on our roads. We expect some useful data to emerge from these checks."
Fergal Harrington, Group Brand Development Manager at Maxol commented: "Championing the safety of our customers is important to Maxol and we are happy to assist Continental Tyres in this initiative to increase awareness of the importance of proper tyre care and maintenance".
The free tyre checks will be offered between 9.30am - 5.30pm at the following Maxol Service Stations:
Dublin: Maxol Ringsend Road - July 11
