Leading petrol retailer Maxol today announced the launch of its 'Wash For Wishes' carwash fundraising campaign as part of the company's ongoing charity partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK.

'Wash for Wishes Week' will run from Saturday 22nd through to Friday 28th November and during this week, Maxol is encouraging motorists to avail of its carwash facilities at participating Maxol service stations in the knowledge that £1 from every car wash will be donated directly to Make-A-Wish UK.

Speaking at the launch, Brian Donaldson, Group General Manager for the Maxol Group, said: "Maxol is proud to work with Make-A-Wish Foundation as the company's nominated charity partner for 2014. We hope that by hosting 'Wash For Wishes' carwash week, we can raise money and awareness for Make-A-Wish UK. Every donation made to Make-A-Wish UK goes towards granting the wish of a child in the UK with a life-threatening medical condition"

Neil Jones, CEO of Make-A-Wish UK, added: "This is a great initiative which we hope will raise much-needed funds for Make-A-Wish UK. Throughout 'Wash For Wishes' carwash week we ask motorists to support Make-A-Wish by getting their car washed at their participating local Maxol service station."

Maxol is keen to highlight to motorists the extent to which proceeds from each carwash can easily build up to help make the wish of a child come true; for example:

• £10 could buy lunch for a child who wishes for a special visit to London.
• £1000 could buy accommodation at Disneyland Resort Paris for a wish child's whole family

Neil Jones continued: "It's donations from the public which help us respond to as many wishes as possible. Initiatives such as 'Wash For Wishes' are important to us because we have a chance to present ourselves directly to Maxol's customers."

'Wash For Wishes' carwash week is the perfect time to get your car squeaky clean and to do your bit to help make a child's wish come true.

Participating service stations are listed on www.maxol.ie and will display 'Wash For Wishes' advertisements on their forecourts.

Make-A-Wish UK is Maxol's charity of the year and the aim of the partnership is to support the charitable work of Make-A-Wish in granting magical wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 years who are living with life-threatening conditions. In addition to fundraising events such as 'Wash for Wishes', Make-A-Wish wristbands are on sale in all participating Maxol service stations, as well as collection boxes in over 200 Maxol service stations.
