MAXOL BANTRY SUPPORTS LOCAL INSHORE SEARCH AND RESCUE ASSOCIATION

Bantry group

L-R: Members of BISRA with Treasurer Martin O'Mahony and Maxol on The Pier Bantry Licensee Robin Mc Mullan

Tuesday 30th September, Maxol on The Pier Bantry pledged support to the local Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Assocation (BISRA). Robin McMullan, licensee of Maxol Bantry presented Martin O'Mahony, BISRA Treasurer with a cash donation and discounted Maxol Fuelcard to support the lifeboat fleet. Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association is a voluntary group set up to provide an emergency lifeboat service to the Bantry Bay community. The recently commissioned lifeboat, "St. Brendan", is manned, managed and crewed by local volunteers.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Martin O'Mahony said, "we are delighted with this support from Robin McMullan and Maxol Bantry. We provide a local service that everyone in the community is familiar with. The crew is made up of people living or working within Bantry town, although a number of shore crew and non-emergency members reside a little further out. All can be called upon at very short notice. It is encouraging to see local business getting behind us and helping us focus on our work and worry a little less about finances".

Robin McMullan added "My business looks out across the pier and I see and appreciate the hugely important roll the voluntary members of Bantry Inshore Rescue play in our Community. I am very pleased to play my part in helping to reduce the costs of running the association".
