The past year has been a very special time for The Maxol Group as we marked 100 years in business. Our fourth-generation, family-owned Irish company was founded by William ‘The Boss’ McMullan in 1920 and the McMullans are still central to the operation of the business today. Noel McMullan, grandson of The Boss, joined Maxol in 1971 and was recently interviewed by Richard Curran on RTE’s The Business. The interview follows the publication of Maxol 1920–2020: Celebrating the First Hundred Years of an Irish Family Company, which was compiled and written by historian and author, Turtle Bunbury.
Turtle worked closely with Noel in creating a wonderful tome on the history of the company and the many characters that have been involved in the success of the business over the years.
The book offers a fascinating insight into Ireland’s oldest family forecourt business, which Noel manages to capture in just 20 minutes!
