Leinster Senior Tennis Open a Double Success for Maxol

The Leinster Senior Tennis Open from 26th June – 4th July was once again sponsored by Derek & Susan Foley of Maxol Templeogue Village. The annual event which takes place at Templeogue Tennis club and opposite the Maxol station attracted 400 players to enter the different graded events from Class 1 (semi-professional) to Class 7, with as many as 60 matches taking place a day. The competition is not only a key event on the Leinster Tennis Calendar but also a key event in the village community with many of the local businesses getting involved. To support the link with the tennis club, Maxol has a year-round advertising on the show court and all competitors received a voucher for money off their next fuel fill up.

We are delighted to also report that Maxol's Fergal Harrington & Doubles Partner Dec Carney won the final of the Class 2 doubles event at the Open, winning on Saturday morning in the best of three sets. Having narrowly lost the first set in a tie-break, they battled back to win the next two sets and the match – 6-7; 6-4; 6-4.
