Maxol Announces Lions Clubs Sponsorship

DRIVING BETTER IDEAS FURTHER!

Wednesday 22nd September:  Maxol and Lions Clubs International have announced details of a new sponsorship initiative called the “Travelling Lions Awards with Maxol”. The Awards have been introduced to recognise and encourage travel amongst the 3000 members of the 120 Lions Clubs operating on the island of Ireland.

As participants in the Travelling Lions Awards scheme, Maxol will sponsor fuel vouchers which will be presented at the Lions Annual Convention and Awards Event to be held in Dublin in February 2011.  The vouchers will be used to reward those individual members who actively travel in support of the Lions charity and fund raising events outside of their normal district.

Speaking about the Travelling Lions Awards with Maxol, Brian Donaldson (pictured right), General Manager, Marketing & Retail Ireland said:

“Maxol is very proud to be associated with Lions Clubs International which is the largest voluntary Humanitarian Service organisation in the world.  Lions Clubs International in Ireland raises €2 million a year through their Christmas Food appeal as well as being involved in youth support projects such as Peace Poster, Youth Award and a Suicide Awareness Programme amongst other initiatives.

We believe that Maxol is the perfect activity partner for this initiative based on our extensive service station network.  We are proud to think that Maxol will play such a positive and pivotal role in the literal fuelling of great ideas for Lions Clubs International in Ireland”.

Commenting on the activity, Terence Mangan (pictured left), District Governor of Lions Clubs International said:

“We are delighted to receive such positive and practical support for this initiative from Maxol.  An open exchange of ideas is the lifeblood of our organisation and the many fundraising activities for which we are responsible in Ireland.  The availability of these Maxol fuel vouchers can only serve to encourage further positive networking opportunities between our 3,000 members”.
