This week, Maxol, the family-owned fuel and convenience retailer, presented Make-A-Wish Ireland with a cheque for €10,000, the proceeds from its recent 'Wash for Wishes' Carwash Week. The 'Wash for Wishes' campaign ran from 22nd to 28th November and saw €2 from each car wash purchase at participating Maxol Service Stations donated to Make A Wish.
Fergal Harrington Group Brand Development Manager, The Maxol Group commented on the campaign : "We are delighted to be donating €10,000 to Make A Wish today, which is in addition to the ongoing donations from the charity boxes in our stations. We want to thank our car wash customers and our service station retailers and staff for their generosity, as this money will be used to grant memorable wishes for many special children and their families. We are pleased to say that the amount raised during this 'Wash for Wishes' car wash week is greater than that raised in our previous campaign, demonstrating the willingness of our communities to support our Make A Wish fundraising efforts".
All of the Wash for Wishes money raised will help Make-A-Wish to reach their 2014 target of granting 210 wishes which is a 60% increase on last year.
The Make-A-Wish experience can have a positive impact on thephysical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing of a sick child. Supporting Make-A-Wish helps to make a positive difference and provides happy memories to families all over Ireland. Sometimes these memories have to last a life-time.
