MAXOL SCOOPS TWO TOP ACCOLADES AT IRELAND'S FORECOURT & CONVENIENCE RETAILER AWARDS 2013

Tuesday 17th September, The Maxol Group is delighted to announce success in winning a total of three accolades at Ireland's Forecourt & Convenience Retailer Awards 2013. Celebrating eight years of rewarding Ireland's finest forecourt retailers, the IFCR Awards 2013 took place at Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin, on Friday September 13th, 2013. Universally supported throughout Ireland by wholesalers, symbol groups, oil companies and independent retailers, the IFCR Awards are designed to reward professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit, acknowledge innovation and commitment and, at the same time, help to raise industry standards.

Maxol won Oil Company Initiative of the Year 2013 for the Group's new brand identity, which is currently being rolled out across the Network. The Store Manager of The Year Award was won by Ger Coughlan, who manages Maxol Skehard Road, Maxol Ballincollig and Maxol Ballinrea on behalf of Maxol's licensee, Donal Spillane. *This is Ger Coughlan's second award to win this year. In July, he was named as the National Retail Manager of the Year 2013, by independent trade magazine, Shelflife as part of the GRAMS (Grocery Retail Awards in Management). Mulkern's Maxol Eurospar, Newry scooped the Forecourt & Convenience Store of the Year. Speaking after winning, Ciaran Mulkern said: "We're really pleased to have won this award; it is great for the team and brilliant for staff morale".

Commenting on The Maxol Groups' Oil Company Initiative of the Year 2013 award, Maxol's Chief Operating Officer, Brian Donaldson commented, "Maxol is delighted to have won this award and it reinforces the very positive feedback that we have had from our retailers and consumers on our new fresh and vibrant forecourt image. It has been an exciting year and to date we have introduced the new Maxol brand to over 100 service stations in Ireland. The award is graciously received and gives further recognition to the confidence by our owners, the McMullan family, in investing in their business when the forecourt retail convenience sector, is not without its challenges".

Winning store manager Ger Coughlan said, "I am delighted and humbled to have been recognised as a leader in the industry.
