THE MAXOL GROUP PRESENTS THE SIMON COMMUNITIES OF IRELAND WITH A CHEQUE FOR €60,000, MARKING THE END OF THE TWO-YEAR CHARITY PARTNERSHIP

On Monday 4th November (From left), Maxol Group Brand Development Manager Fergal Harrington presented a cheque to the value of €60,000 to Patrick Quinn, Head of Development Simon Community ROI and Brian Shanks, Fundraising Co-ordinator Simon Community Northern Ireland. Both ROI and NI Simon representatives were in attendance to receive the cheque at Maxol's Mespil Road service station, Dublin.

The cheque presentation marks the end of a partnership, which was officially announced in 2011. The agreement included the provision of Simon Community collection boxes in over 160 Maxol service stations throughout the island of Ireland. In addition to collection boxes, money was also raised through weeklong 'Suds for Simon' carwash campaigns where a percentage of each Maxol carwash sale went directly to Simon.

Speaking on behalf of The Maxol Group, Fergal Harrington, Maxol Group Brand DevelopmentManager said "Maxol is very proud of its association with the Simon Community in Ireland as we have been long aware of the great work carried out by each of the local Simon Communities around the country. We are very grateful for the support of our retailers, their staff and in particular our customers whose generosity has helped raise this money, which goes directly to support tackling homelessness in the North and South".

Speaking on behalf of the Simon Community, Patrick Quinn, said "The Simon Communities of Ireland are delighted to have been supported by the Maxol Group and its customers for the past two years. They've done a great job raising much needed funds as well as awareness for our work with some of the most vulnerable people in our society."
