Rules

It is the responsibility of the entrant/driver to ensure your car is fully road legal with current Tax and NCT where applicable. Drivers must hold a current valid road licence and be insured to drive the vehicle being driven on the day. Each vehicle must carry at least one passenger of 12 years of age or older and the rules of the road apply at all times.

Entrants will receive a €20.00 fuel voucher as part of their entry fee. Cars must be fully filled with Maxol fuel at the starting point on the morning of the event and this must be paid for by the entrant who can use the fuel voucher provided. Once filled, the fuel filler and engine bay will be sealed by the organisers and these seals must remain in place until completion of the second route. If any of the seals have been removed or tampered with, the driver/car will be excluded from the results.

When the second route is completed the officials and only the officials, will open the seals and supervise the refilling of the car with Maxol Fuel at the finish point. This fuel top up will be compliments of Maxol. The officials will record the amount in litres required to fill the car and when full, this amount will count towards the final tallies.

The routes will have a mix of road types to fully test the fuel economy of the vehicles. It is not permitted to deviate from the official route (take a short cut) and the organisers have measures in place to ensure this doesn’t happen. Where a short cut is taken, the driver/car will be excluded from the results.

There will be pre-determined checkpoints on the route which will be signalled in the road book and entrants will have to get their road book stamped at these points. Any entrant who completes either route without the designated stamps will be excluded from the results

Trip/ Odometer

The trip meter must be zeroed at the first fuel filling point when filling the car and is not to be interfered with by the entrant for the duration of the event. The officials will take also the reading from the odometer at this time and on completion of the run at the second fuel filling point, the trip and odometer readings will be taken again. If the total distance is less than that recorded by the organisers on the recce, the driver/car will be excluded from the results.
